Fairmount was born in Oslo, Norway, and a good definition for the band would be: solid, simple, fired up rhythmic rock. To put it in a few words, Fairmount is a burst of energy. Every song seems like a short blast of powerful chords and yet has melodic vocals.
Unlike what people often think about the sad, dark and obscure music coming from the Nordic countries, Fairmount's music lifts the mood and takes away the drowsiness when needed. Perhaps the reason for this is the lineup: Four musicians with different nationality backgrounds, from Norwegian-Portuguese to German-Norwegian and Mexican to a newly arrived American.
The band has accomplished international reach despite being young by playing in the USA and recording the first EP with producer John Ovnik at Pressure Point Studios in Chicago plus a European tour starting in London, UK. Fairmount has also been named band of the day in one of Mexico City's rock radio stations and so far has gained fans from countries such as Argentina, Norway, USA, Mexico, Colombia, Sweden, Germany, France, Australia and UK just to mention some.
The songs "Break Down. Build Up" and "Fake Souls & Molotov Cocktails" were selected for the promos of the series "The Vampire Diaries" for Norwegian television.
